My teacher gave me an assignment where I would have to rewrite 10 given sentences to make it sound more interesting by changing words and using those that are more descriptive or 'less boring'.

The sentences:

1) Running slowly down the street, the animal was shot by the man.

2) The small, pale girl was talking with the big, strong boy.

3) The dirty house looked like a scary place to live.

4) As he walked, the worker looked like he was sad.

5) Doing homework makes the stupid girl feel happy.

6) The shiny gift had an odor that made me sick.

7) I said to the teacher I like English especially short tests.

8) She drank the liquid with a loud noise.

9) I want to see the pretty sunset with my friend.

10) I hate the group of kids that always are late to the game.

  1. All you have to do is change the adjectives. (describing words) Get a thesaurus out and start looking these words up! For instance, the second one could read:

The petite, porcelain faced girl was conversing with the husky, strong young gentlemen.

  2. Hey! Don't cheat! But anyway...

    1) It hurried in a slow pace down a big, long giant dark street with many houses and open space, the alert creature was alarmed as soon as it heard gun fire, and collapsed instantly, and holding the gun, was the tough, well built man.

    2) She was tiny, and unnoticeable, but even so, the pale, shy child, shivered across from side to side and spoke to this intimidating, huge, well built, athletic boy.

    3) The dirty and unclean, bad odor smelling double storey house, was freakish, and no doubt an extremely frightening place it spend your life in.

    4) The day was gloomy and boring, and the workman trod along, with his face so gloomy, he felt a stranger to the world.

    5) Even though, the homework given to the dull and not bright girl, she felt happy to be given the opportunity.

    6) The gift that had been given to me, was bright and was shiny in the sunlight, so beautiful, yet it had a smell...a certain smell that put me off....

    7) I came up to my English teacher and I spoke saying, English and tests are enjoyable, may I point out when they are short, too?

    8) The girl, still not for sure, rose the cup up to her chin, and tipped it into her mouth and drank the contents, she let out a loud roar.

    9) The sunset so beautiful, so pretty, why not enjoy it with my friend and make it twice as fun.

    10) To be honest, I just loathe it when a  crowd of children that constantly are behind to the game join in.

Hope this helps, I really do!

And please understand I put a lot of effort into that answer.
