Rexy Mainaky keeps on experimenting in the Mixed Doubles category for the 2011 Sudirman Cup
Malaysia’s Doubles national coach, Rexy Mainaky keeps on experimenting the new couples in the Mixed Doubles category for the upcoming 2011 Sudirman Cup, which will start from Sunday, May 22 at Qingdao China.
Rexy tried many combinations to find out the best couple for Sudirman Cup, which is the most prestigious mixed team championship in the world of Badminton. The strategy can work in a way to make the squad unpredictable for other top teams contesting in this
event.
Despite the fact that the Malaysian team has an in form couple in the form of Goh Liu Ying and Chan Peng Soon, which is performing consistently for the last several months, Rexy is looking to find more and more suitable combinations to increase the strength
of the team.
Wong Pei Tty and Koo Kien Keat are the winners of the commonwealth games, which were held in India last year and Chin Eei h*i and Tan Boon Heong were also tested in the training and practice sessions at the Qingdao Sports Centre Conson Stadium, on Friday,
May 20.
While talking about the changes in the pairs of the national team, Rexy said, "This competition is tough and that is why I'm testing all the pairs and trying new combinations in the mixed doubles. That doesn't mean I will break up the pairs we have now.
But I'm just trying them out to see how we do."
The coach knows that the competition will be extremely tough and everybody will have to deliver his hundred percent to produce better results against all top shuttlers of the world in this mixed team championship. However, h is very optimistic for the better
play of the Malaysia team against all top nations in the world.
Rexy further added that the pressure of the match will be on doubles. "The pressure is on the doubles to deliver but I think we are all ready for the challenge," he said.
Malaysia will open its campaign in the event by playing against Russia on Monday.
