Rey Mysterio set to face R-Truth in Over the Limit – WWE news
A new match between Rey Mysterio and R-Truth was announced during Monday Night Raw on May 16. Mysterio will now face R-Truth in WWE pay-per-view Over the Limit on May 22.
The non-stop confrontations between Truth and Rey Mysterio were the reason behind the Over the Limit match between the superstars. The rivalry between Mysterio and Truth started on May 9 during Monday Night Raw when the Raw General Manager selected Mysterio
instead of Truth for a number one contender match. The match was fought between Alberto Del Rio, The Miz and Mysterio. Miz won the match because of the interference of Alex Riley and became the number one contender. After the match, R-Truth attacked Mysterio
from behind and hit his finishing move, What’s Up, on Mysterio to show his anger at being over looked.
On May 16, Rey called out Truth on what had happened last week. Truth did not come out but Del Rio made an appearance and insulted Rey. This caused a match between the two Mexican Superstars and they locked up. Mysterio won the match thanks to a s***w-up
by Del Rio’s personal ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez. After the match Truth came out and attacked Mysterio again. Truth made Mysterio submit with punches and threw in a What’s Up for good measure.
After that attack, the Raw GM announced a match between Mysterio and Truth. This brings the total to six matches that have been officially announced for Over the Limit.
The WWE Champion, John Cena, will face Miz in an I Quit match because Miz has become the number one contender after defeating Mysterio and Del Rio. The World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton, will defend his world title against Christian.
The Intercontinental Championship match will be take place between Wade Barrett and Ezekiel Jackson. The United States Champion, Kofi Kingston, will face Dolph Ziggler in a United States Championship match. The largest superstars in the WWE, Kane and The
Big Show, will defend their Tag Team Championship titles against The New Nexus members CM Punk and Mason Ryan.
The WWE Hall of Famer, Jerry Lawler, challenged Michael Cole to a Kiss My Foot Match at Over the Limit. If Lawler loses he will give his Hall of Fame ring to Cole and give his place in the Hall of Fame to the superstar.
