Question:

Reyes V. Santana?

Is it ever feasable to trade a great everyday player for a great starting pitcher?

My pitching is rotten. Of course my hitting might go south if I offer this deal.

Not sure what to do? Ideas?

  1. Sometimes, it's a good deal. If you're shortstop is good enough to slot in for Reyes, getting Santana is a pretty good deal. Santana is a pitcher who will rack stats for innings pitched, era, whip, and lots and lots of strikeouts. Reyes is a spectacular base stealer, contact hitter, and can sometimes drive in runs. Since you said your pitching is rotten, I think getting Santana will really benefit your team. As long as your backup shortstop, or your other hitters, are good enough to cover up for the stats you've traded away with Reyes, you'll probably get the upside of a trade. Don't worry, some trades benefit more than one fantasy team, like one of my trades.
