Reyes vs. Grant............Ask Oscar..... ???

Yes, I watched the fight the other night and now understand that Oscar hurt his hand in or around the 4th round. More and more fighter's that opt for the so called "punchers" glove are finding that they're not getting the results they were looking for. Oscar opened up on Forbes as early as the 2nd round but, had little affect on him. Now, he's hurting from using the glove with little or no padding, touted as being the fighter's choice. I see more and more opting now for the GRANT glove, which too is classified as a "puncher's glove", but made with a padding system that is user friendly and hand safe. Maybe the orange glove looked good to Oscar, but his farewell tour may be in jeorpardy. I understand also that the GRANT glove is being improved with an even new technology of foams, similar to the Japanese brand "Winning" that will offer even more protection to the fighter's bread and butter, his hands. I would think that any pro would want to do themselves this favor and opt for "GRANT".

  1. Grant and Winning are the best gloves out there. Well i take care of my hands very well cus they are a bit fragile after having surgery. I can still use reyes but i still have enough power with Winning and Grant and feel that my hands are being well protected.

  2. I do like the look and feel of Grant boxing gloves they i feel are vastly superior to any boxing gloves other boxers use the Reyes gloves but i find the Grant boxing gloves much better. The mix and matching of Grant boxing is a cool feature of the glove too Oscars black and orange looked like a Haloween glove but it was a nice boxing glove he was wearing.

  3. Hand injurys are just a fact of life for boxers. The fact that all the top boxers that can bang opt for the Cleto Reyes punchers glove just tells me that this glove is the best around if you want to KO your opponent which is after all the objective. If a top fighter can put his opponent away in a title fight but sustain a hand injury by doing so i would say the fighter would take that all day long.

  4. The feel of Grant gloves isn't the same as say Winning's, they are good gloves but not worth the price tag of there pro line of equipment. Winning's however are, a set of Winning equipment is about $700 if you get the head gear with the bar on it. They are worth every penny, this is a question best suited for pro fighters who know boxing.

I just think Grant is over rated because they have a lot of big named fighters under sponsorship contract. Look at most fighters who wear Grant's, they also wear Grant shorts & jackets. Thats it, Reyes is a punchers glove but so is Everlast. I think for a fight glove Everlast makes the best overall glove. It gives you protection yet still punching power isn't effected. Ask the pro's who actually fight, but for training you cannot beat Winnings.
