Reynaldo Bautista promises to undertake Heriberto Ruiz for IBF Featherweight title – Boxing news
The Philippines Featherweight professional boxer Reynaldo Bautista is very determined to undertake Mexico’s Super-bantamweight, Heriberto Ruiz.
The fight is going to take place for the International Boxing Federation’s (IBF) Featherweight title this Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the Cebu City Waterfront Hotel & Casino, Barangay Lahug, Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines.
Danrex Tapdasan will be performing his duties as a referee of that bout. Bruce McTavish, Rey Danseco and Muhammad Rois have been appointed as judges by boxing authorities.
Bautista said, “If Ruiz thinks he is going to meet same fighter whom he met previously, then the Mexican pride could face the shock of his life.”
Adding to this Bautista said, “I am not the same fighter whom he headbutted, and who was not armed with two hands in our previous fight. Even if I was bloodied after that headbutt, I still fought my heart out.”
Bautista has fought 32 of his total fights of which he won 30 competitive bouts (including 23 by scoring knockouts) against the world’s best boxers with a couple of losses in his professional career.
On the other hand, his opponent, Ruiz scored 46 wins out of 58 including 28 knockout wins with 10 considerable losses and 2 draws in his growing career.
Talking about his fight plan, Boom Boom Bautista said he will try to put pressure on him from the very beginning while staying in front of him throughout the 12-round competition.
The 33-year-old, Ruiz and the 24-year-old Bautista came face to face at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, United States in 2008. Ruiz won the match through a unanimous points’ decision.
Hopefully, the fight between Bautista and Ruiz will be an interesting one. They will be proving their strengths and skills very soon to claim the victory.
