  1. in Lyon you have to visit: le parc de la tête d'or which is one of the biggest in Europe, la cathédrale de Fourvière (basilica)where you will get a good view of the city, visit le musée des beaux-arts (paintings museum), le vieux Lyon (medieval city),

in the region you can visit the medieval village Pérouge, les grottes de la Balme (caves), le parc des oiseaux (bird park) which is beautiful (Villars les Dombes)

I live in Lyon, if you need help there you can email me

  2. am from there, so i would say first this area is dedicated to food&wine tradition, it`s like a flag all over the world...from up north Macon and it`s white wine to lyon and old school cooking... from Savoie and it`s cheese to Cotes du Rhone and the red wines. A good looking million inhabitants city worth a day and half stay is Lyon (largest innercity garden in Europe is Parc de la tete d`or), small restaurants (bouchons), 2 rivers and quay sides everywhere downtown.

Then go to vineyards down south to Valence, slightly hotter but windy and turn east to reach the mountains of the Alpes, stunning landscapes. Everything is within reach of 2 hours drive.

    Enjoy the ride.
