Rhymers Ha’ looks favourite for Novices’ Hurdle – Newcastle Preview
The Lucinda Russell-trained talented young gelding, Rhymers Ha’, is expected to accomplish the maiden victory of his career in Newcastle Falcons “National Hunt” Novices’ Hurdle at Newcastle racecourse on Tuesday, March 6.
The Class 4 race of 2m distance has £2,014 of prize money. The action will begin at 2:20 (GMT).
Rhymers Ha’ is set to run against 10 competitors including King Of Thorns, Nahneh, Oscar Stanley, Pas Trop Tard, Purcell’s Bridge, Seaofemotion, Talkin Thomas, The Wayward Lord, Victor Hewgo and Just Jordan.
Though Rhymers Ha’ has been winless since the beginning of his career in April 2011, but he has delivered some outstanding performances to date.
After finishing second at Kelso track on December 29, 2011, the G. Adam-owned novice runner went on to grab second spot again at the same venue on February 15.
As a whole, Rhymers Ha’ has run for six times to date. For today’s competition, he is carrying enough confidence which will surely help him make a big impact.
The brilliant gelding’s chances to grab his maiden triumph in his maiden outing at Newcastle are as high as 80 percent provided he manages to maintain his momentum.
Out of the other ten runners, Talkin Thomas and Purcell’s Bridge are supposed to fight confidently.
Talkin Thomas has run for two times since his debut in October 2011. After finishing third in his maiden outing, the Nicky Richard-trained gelding went on to get second top position in the second and last start on November 11.
These two races have exposed the gelding’s talent to a great extent. He is likely to do well at Newcastle today.
Purcell’s Bridge started his career in March 2011. The trainee of Rose Dobbin has been impressive, though not won, in his total four outings to date. He will surely unleash enough firepower in today’s start as well.
By and large, Novices’ Hurdle will be a cool competition. There is not likely to be much thrill at the venue as none of runners except the favourite one possesses reasonable form at the moment. Let us see how Rhymers Ha’ manages to win. Good luck to all
the horses.
