Rhys Clark aiming to claim 2012 IBSF World Under-21 Snooker Championships
With the start of the new snooker season of International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF), the potters are preparing to start their season run with impressive performance in the new season. Young snooker star, Rhys Clark is also aiming to make an
appearance in the new season with his impressive performance.
The 17-year-old is looking to perform well and try to add the 2012 IBSF Under-21 Snooker Championship title in his account. The event will be hosted by China at Wuxi Sports Centre in Wuxi from July 14 to 22. The 2012 IBSF Under-21 Snooker Championship will
be the second event organised in Wuxi after the 2012 Wuxi Classic snooker tournament.
The U-21 Snooker Championship will feature all young lads of the circuit who have qualified for the initial stages. The competition is going to be quite interesting because the line-up contains top guns of the circuit who will take on the new challengers.
Clark is desperately waiting for the tournament to begin as he believes that he is all set to give it a third try to win the Championship.
While speaking to the local media, Clark said, “I can’t wait for the tournament to start. I’m really looking forward to the competition itself – and I’ve got a good chance of winning it. It feels good to have qualified. All I need to do is play my own game
and if I keep my form up the way it has been then I can definitely win it.”
He added, “It’s a good opportunity for me – the experience of playing against some of the best players in the world again and testing myself will be good. I’ve got some experience of the tournament because I was in Canada last year and Ireland the year before,
but China will be a different experience altogether.”
Clark also participated in the 2012 World Snooker Qualifying School (Q School) at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield but was unable to win the pro tour ticket. He crashed out in the initial stages of all three Q School events. However, the young lad
is targeting the U-21 Championship title and is practising hard at the baize to make his playing style perfect for the competition.
