Rhys Ifans to star as Bradley Wiggins in a Hollywood film
Bradley Wiggins is undoubtedly one of the best British cyclists and his popularity grew tremendously in the current season.
His growing reputation has caught the eye of Hollywood film makers and it is been said that the cyclist’s life will now be captured in a 70mm lens.
“Bradley is a larger-than-life personality and his story really appeals to movie executives,” said the Daily Express.
“Funding is already looking healthy and it is hoped the project will get the green light before the end of the year”.
“Rhys Ifans is the favoured choice for the lead role as it’s felt he could capture Bradley perfectly”.
Wiggins became the first British cyclist ever to register an overall victory at the most prestigious cycling race of the season, the Tour de France and also bagged two stages at the race.
The 32-year-old was not really challenged throughout the race by any cyclist and he kept the leader’s jersey for over two weeks.
He took a total time of 87 hours, 34 minutes and 47 seconds to complete the exhausting three-week journey across France.
Team Sky cyclist received huge support by the team which made his job pretty easier, his teammate Christopher Froome finished 3 minute and 21 seconds behind at the second position.
Vincenzo Nibali of Team Liquigas-Cannondale was the only other cyclist that was in contention of an overall victory but he could not secure any better than the third overall position after the 2012 Tour de France final general classifications.
The Italian finished 6 minute and 19 seconds behind the race leader and achieved the third overall position after the Tour de France final general classifications.
“At the Tour everything is so stressful. Everybody was only talking about Twitter, doping and suspicion,” the Brit noted after winning the race.
“After the Tour, I felt relieved and I showed that when I crossed the finish line at the end of the time trial. But for the rest of the time, I didn’t enjoy myself at the Tour”.
Right after the French Grand Tour, Bradley participated at the 2012 Olympic Games where he continued his top form ahead of the home crowd.
Wiggins became the most successful British Olympian after securing his seventh Gold Medal in the time trials event this year in London.
The final details are not yet revealed by it is believed that the 45-year-old British actor Rhys Ifans is expected to play Wiggins in the movie.
