  1. The court will appoint one if he can't find his own.

  2. he must than represent himself.

  3. Unfortunately murders have human rights and sadly know every one of them and know full well how the milk the system. A decent Barrister will cost the taxpayer £500K+. They should take him out back and kill him in a cycle by shooting along with his scummy family.

  4. I guess he would be appointed a state barrister from the LSC.

  5. From reading the article it would seem that the solicitors / defendant are being a bit 'picky' and trying to employ 'the best Silk' at the taxpayers expense. The accused in any case does have the right to secure the services of the legal team of their choice as long as the solicitor / barrister is agreeable.

While I am all in favour of of a fair trial a barrister does not become a QC by being shoddy at his / her job, and therefore the defence should be made to accept a QC who is prepared to take on the job instead of holding out for a high profile barrister.

In saying all of that, it is not a requirement for the defending barrister to be a QC.

As far as any delay is concerned that would be in the hands of the Judge who is trying the case.

  6. it does say in the article that the trial may be delayed if one cannot be found

  7. One will be appointed by the court - this is probably a delaying tactic by the accused.
