  1. Most of these players have already shown enough to say that they'll be around for a while. My regulars for next season would be.

Round three - Rhys Palmer (Fremantle)

Round four - Kieren Jack (Sydney Swans)

Round five - Ben McKinley (West Coast)

Round six - Cyril Rioli (Hawthorn)

Round seven - Austin Wonaeamirri (Melbourne)

Round eight - Kurt Tippett (Adelaide)

Round nine - Garrick Ibbotson (Fremantle)

Round 10 - Nathan Brown (Collingwood)

Round 11 - Matthew Kreuzer (Carlton)

Round 12 - Trent Cotchin (Richmond)

Round 13 - Jarryd Morton (Hawthorn)

Round 15 - Jack Riewoldt (Richmond)

Round 16 - Kyle Reimers (Essendon)

Round 17 - Brad Ebert (West Coast)

Round 18 - Gavin Urquhart (North Melbourne)

Round 19 - Shaun Grigg (Carlton)

Round 20 - Cale Morton (Melbourne)

Round 21 - Bradd Dalziell (Brisbane Lions)

Round 22 - Alipate Carlile (Port Adelaide)

  2. Alright everybody shut up and stop crying cause freobeat your teams and they pick THE BEST THE BEST!!!!!!!! young player to receive the medal and hes THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Players of the future:

apart from the obvious (Palmer and Rioli) i think Kruezer, Cotchin and Dalziell, and maybe McKinley will be players of the future.

    - Cotchin only played about 10 games with no pre-season, so he will be great

    - In the next few years, when west coast rebuild their midfield, McKinley will get more ball kicked down to him. He kick 45ish goals from 20 games, that's not bad for a young player in a bad team.

    - Dalziell only played a handful of games but played well in each one of them, he will definitely be a good player for years to come

and personally i think Rioli should have won the Rising Star, its much harder to keep your spot in the second best side than it is to rack up touched in one of the bottom four sides. But...i am a little bias because i barrack for Hawthorn.

  4. rioli should have won.. not palmer

i would have said dalziell but he only played 7 games so u cant expect 2 much!

i rekon tippet, wonaeamirri, brown, palmer, ebert, jack, mckinley, kreuzer, cotchin, reiwoldt, urquhart and the mortons will be stars of the future.. and dalziell of course

the others will all be good obviously but these will be the stand-outs

  5. They just gave it to Palmer because Freo never win anything and they felt sorry for them. Although i think he will be a good player, i think Rioli should have won, because I'm a biased Hawk fan.

  6. Have you looked at bradd dalziell's stats - he averages 26.4 disposals per game had 34 in his debut match and is super awesome!! He has to be a leader

  7. Congrats to Palmer for NABbing the rising star award.

Both of Essendon's lads look the goods, we've seen more of Reimers though.Bachar Houli has a calm head and good hands.

Rioli I wouldn't have put second, I wonder if his name got him a few votes - though he is a fair player, I wouldn't say brilliant.I am impressed with what I've seen of Kreuzer, though I am no Carlton fan.

Ebert is another one that has more to show us.

I hope that Dalziell is still eligible next year, he got the raw prawn this year, should have been nominated on his second game at latest.

Well done all the debutants that roared into the arena firing on all cylinders.

  8. I think he deserved to win, he was one of the few positives for Fremantle this year.

There was a lot of new talent this year, and I have no doubt that many of the nominations will become future leaders of their clubs.

    Congrats to Palmer.

  9. Rhys has the sickest hair style ever............as in best lol!!

poor guy got injured though in his last match.

  10. Kyle Reimers will win or Bachar Houli or Cyril Rioli

  11. of course palmer desevered to win, how many of the others were actually getting tagged by the likes of cameron ling and co. week in, week out and still got b.o.gs?

As for the future, rioli and wonaemirri look like solid small forwards, nath brown and reimers would be great to have developing of the half back line and morton (cale), ebert, cotchin and palmer will probably all be in the middle of the same all australian team one day. plus mckinley wouldve won the coleman THIS year if he had had a better team around him!!

  12. Some other players this season that have stood up immensely are mainly from the eagles as they used almost all their players on their list except about 3 or 4. Jamie Mcnamara (WCE) Chris Masten (WCE) Ryan Davis (WCE) Tim Houlihan (WCE).

Brad Ebert (round 17 nominee) and Ben Mckinley (round 5) are promising players and there is even talk of ebert being captain in about 3 or 4 years time.

Ben Mckinley is the future buddy franklin as already in his first year playing afl and getting promoted off the rookie list, he has been kicking bags of 7, 6 etc. goals

    =]

  13. i dunno how well he will go if he pulls himself into a good year next year he will be good but only time will tell

  14. Well done Rhys Palmer.

Of course Wonaeamirri and Rioli are obvious big guns. McKinley looks promising too. One less obvious nominee was Kyle Reimers (orange boots). Keep an eye on him, it was his first season for the Bombers and he was very consistant - he was the match winner in some games!
