  1. We have used them before- I find that they help the rider more then the horse- Which in turn helps the horse. If the rider/horse that you are think off is quick or unbalanced or nervous give them a try I think you will like them.

  2. I am a barrel racer and i live by rhythm beads for young horses! I aabsolutely love them for my barrel horses. I wouldnt use them for dressage tough as the girl above stated, because they could end up being more of a nuisance than anything if you just 'decorate' with them. They are to get a horse in tune, along with the rider, and get them moving, and  running in tune with the rider, they are for concentration. They can also help the rider to concentrate to. When i run my young training barrel horses the beads get them to focus on me and not the crowd or people screaming 'look' of 'leg' or 'hand down', they will get your horse instead as young horses do, running smoothly and constitantly, placing every foot as it should be, not all over the place, they will place their feet better when turning. so basicly the benefit is consistantcy and concentration for both you and the horse. i hope this has helped

  3. I just bought some for my horse!  I haven't exactly used them yet because I want my horse to be comfortable with them first.  I have her wear them and walk around to get used to the noise.  I plan to use them for decoration for trail riding!

  4. More clarification about what this is is needed.

  5. I think they are an interesting idea as an aid to a learning rider, and provided that the horse they are on is balanced and consistent in their gaits, it could be helpful in teaching a rider how correct gaits feel.  I am concerned, though, that the possible annoyance to the horse caused by them jingling and/or banging against their neck might outweigh the benefits to the rider.

I am also super-crazy-anti "gimmick", and while these don't scream "gimmick" to me simply because they are more or less a learning tool, they would have to be used with caution so that they don't become some kind of crutch.  You'd have to really concentrate on the FEEL of a balanced vs. unbalanced horse, and just use the sound of the beads to confirm whether or not you are correct in your analysis.

Here is a link to explain what they are, in case anyone is completely baffled!
