I plan on getting a tattoo on the front of my ribs and was wondering about the healing time. Also can anyone tell me how much it hurts compared to inner wrist and neck tattoos (which I have)?

  1. The ribs are by far the most painfull spot......in most peoples opinion (and my opinion).  Inner wrist are painfull but easy to anticipate the pain.  As for healing time?  Depends on on tattoo equipment used and the individual.....2-3 weeks is a good time.  Good luck on those ribs.

  2. No one can tell you how much it hurts compared to anything. We all feel pain differently. But it's probably going to hurt, the ribs are known to be a very painful place. And we also cannot tell you how long it will take it heal, it can be anywhere from 2 weeks to five weeks or somewhere around there.

My tattoo over my ribs took about 3 weeks to heal and felt like I had been punched in the ribs (quite hard) the entire time...I think while the tattoo process was extremely painful, the healing was even worse.

  3. I have a tattoo going from my arm pit to my waist

easily the most painful thing I've ever gone through

aside from MAYBE having bones moved to or from their original location

-that question has been asked a hundred times before

as for healing, it's obviously going to depend on the person/tattoo/artist

but mine healed 'completely' in about 2-1/2 weeks after the outline

and closer to 2 after the shading

    good luck
