Ribbon hook-up

Question

I have a new asus motherboard and I need to hook up my hard drive-cd-rom and cd-re-writer and have a ribbon with 5 pin hookups- I can not get the right hook up-I can get the cd-rom to work if I hook up on a 3 device ribbon-
Can anyone gice me any advice on getting this right.
