Ribbons and decorating?

Question

My mom's wedding is in a few days, and i am trying to decorate the back of the chairs with two mesh ribbons, purple and yellow. I want to tie them together somehow or into a bow or anything really. The only thing is, i have no idea how to do this and make it look nice. Suggestions?

I can't be of much help without knowing what the chairs look like. My best advice woudl be to take two ribbons of each color and lightly twist them together. Then drape them over the top of each chair bringing it to the back and tie them in a very nice bow (similar to tying your shoes, just make it look pretty).

Hi, my best friend is doing the chairs at my wedding as shes good at Art

only thing is you can buy special ribbons with wore inbedded in them so the bow does not flop

But for you, i wouldnt suggest a bow, just play about with it untill you find something that looks flowing and elegant, also you could add something white to add more bulk e.g. a sting of pearls

I found some pics you could try and copy, this one is like a man's tie with a flower attached  (perhaps you could used flower broches?)

only other way i can think of is like a sash going diagonally across the back of the chair and tied in a bow or knot at the side

I would layer the yellow ribbon on top of the purple and tie it in one bow.    After the bow is tied you can fluff up and separate the colors a little.  *BOW TIP*  If you make two separate 'bunny ears' and twist them together, it will stay straighter and not slip sideways.
