The France international has played down his recent comments which were interpreted in the wrong context
Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Franck Ribery was reported to have suggested that playing for the Bavarian giants’ was more meaningful for him than the national side. However, the attacker and his agent have denied these rumours.
The winger suggested after his side’s 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt that he has been at the Allianz Arena for six years and expressed his delight at being with the Bundesliga runners-up. He apparently also said that Bayern is
more important to him than the France side.
These comments created a huge controversy in France, and the French midfielder stated that his words were misinterpreted as he is not fluent in the German language. He confirmed that it is silly to compare French team with Die
Roten and he gives his best for both sides.
"I perhaps do not have good enough control of the German language to say things clearly,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
"Obviously, contrary to what you want me to have said, I don't prefer Bayern to the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 team or vice-versa. It is ridiculous to compare the two," he mused.
The player’s agent Jean-Pierre Bernes said that his client did not mean it the way it was understood. He is not fully able to express what he wants to say.
"He does not deny having uttered that sentence but he does not express himself well in German. He just wanted to say that Bayern and France are both very important to him," he finally concluded.
The national team head coach Didier Deschamps ignored his star player’s statement and is sure that the winger will give his maximum for Les Blues. The playmaker has scored 11 goals for his country in 69 appearances, and is an integral
part of the team.
The team trainer added that he is unconcerned by the star’s commitment to the national team and has always done well for them.
Ribery was phenomenal in his side’s 1-1 draw with European champions http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Karim-Benzema-c20350.
