The Bayern Munich winger expressed his pleasure on scoring two goals to secure all three points for his side.
The Bavarian giants downed Die Knappen 2-0 at Allianz Arena on Sunday, February 26, to reclaim the second spot. Franck Ribery scored a brace for the home side as to bring the Bavarians back to winning ways after a poor campaign
since the winter break. The former German champions had won only two out of the five matches played in the league prior to the fixture.
Ribery claimed that Bayern showed great determination to win the clash and totally deserved to win the game. He stated that the team showed with the display that they are genuine contenders for the Bundesliga title this season
and is confident of steady progress in the remainder of the season.
The French international expressed his satisfaction on the performance and stated that the side is back in business. The winger admitted that it would be difficult to catch Borussia Dortmund as they still have a four-point lead
at the top but is hopeful that Bayern’s form will continue to improve.
“It was a good test, and we’ve reacted well. It was important to beat Schalke, who are a good team. What mattered was the three points. We have to stay calm and relaxed, and that’s how we played today. If we do, we can achieve
everything. We’re back in business, but we can’t afford slip-ups and we have to keep winning,” the former Olympique Marseille player was quoted as saying in an interview.

end of the season.
“We deserved to win. We’ve always said we needed a big result to get us going, and maybe that was the spark,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich leapfrogged Borussia Monchengladbach to reclaim the second place on the league standings table. The Foals dropped points against Hamburg when they played at home on Friday and currently sit in third place, one point
behind the Bavarian giants.
