Ricardo Kaka gets a surgery for his injured knee
Kaka, the key player from Real Madrid has admitted that he was experiencing problems with his knee even before the World Cup 2010 finals started. However, he treated the injury mildly and thought that it was not a serious issue at that time.
The 28-year-old attacking midfielder, Ricardo Kaka flew to Antwerp to go through a knee surgery after he started to feel major discomforts at the Madrid’s training sessions in Los Angeles and felt that he could continue no further.
Although the surgery went successful, it halted him from his trainings for almost four months. After the surgery, the Brazilian player was immediately flown to the Bernabeu where he declared the success of his surgery to a press conference.
According to media reports, the top-notch player said that he had a sore knee since last season and even before the World Cup started, but he was under the impression that nothing was serious.
Ricardo continued on to say that he was aware he had a muscular imbalance problem, but wasn’t sure about the real cause. At that time he blamed his groin injury for the shooting pains.
After the World Cup ended, the famous playmaker went on vacations, thinking the pains would eventually go away. When the situation did not improve, Ricardo got worried and considered consulting a professional physician. After detailed tests, he realized that it was something more serious than a groin problem. Kakas knee immediately needed treatment, so he underwent a surgery.
The remarkable midfielder commented on his injury saying that it was sad that he was unable to play because of his injury. He said that his injury was the reason he wasn’t able to perform at his maximum potential in the World Cup. He continued on saying that he still plans to work extremely hard after he completely recovers from the incident.
Ricardo thanked his coach Jose Mourinho for his support in the matter saying that he was very helpful and supportive. He was all praises for the coach stating that Mourinho was very caring and understanding and wanted him to get fully recovered.
Jose Luiz Runco, the Brazilian team’s World Cup doctor has confirmed to the press that Kakas career is not threatened by his injury.
Runco said these types of injuries happen to athletes all the time and often they are in a pretty bad shape in most of the cases. Jose pinpointed that Ricardo’s injury was not as serious as Fernando Torres’ fatal injury.
He further remarked that it was because of the efficiency of the Brazilian medical staff that Ricardo Kaka was able to play. The Brazilian doctor said that despite Kakas unattended injury in the World Cup, he progressed in the matches and stood out from the rest of the players. He emphasized that Kaka was one of the best players in the world and had a lot of potential to stay at the top for a very long time.
After a troublesome season in the 2009-10, the Real Madrid player is looking forward to the upcoming season. However, constant rumours regarding his injury are throwing him off. Unfortunately, the playmaker could not be the centre of attention in the World Cup, but he hopes for a significant improvement. Chelsea has its eyes on the remarkable player and we might find him switching his league.
