Ricardo Santos named Best Player of 2011 Banco do Brasil – Volleyball news
Brazilian beach volleyball star, Ricardo Alex Costa Santos, emerged as the top player in the country at the recently held end of the year award ceremony in Fortaleza, Brazil. The Confederation Brazil de Volleyball (CBV) evaluated the players on their overall
performance at the 2011 Banco do Brasil Beach Volleyball Tour and credited them with several honours. The official award ceremony was conducted during the season closing event in Fortaleza, Ceara this past Saturday. The other outstanding players of the tours
also got recognition by the volleyball organising authority in Brazil (CBV).

The Olympic champion, Ricardo, surpassed everyone in the male category with overall great performance at the 2011 Banco do Brasil tour. This is the second time that he has been named as the Best Player of Tour. Last season, his former team-partner Emanuel
Rego settled for the honour but this time Ricardo got lucky to grab the honour. Ricardo and Emanuel played as a team from 2003-2009 and worked out great results together. Later on, he joined hands with Marcio Araujo and most recently he has teamed up with
Pedro Cunha.
Speaking about his success, he said: “I had two amazing partners on my side this season and they are responsible for this prize as well as all the staff who worked on this project. Thank you all.”
Ricardo was joined by talented Larissa Franca in the female category. Both champions received their trophies, while as teams (Alison/Emanuel and Juliana/Larissa), they received a tribute for their amazing season, winning the National Tour, the World Tour,
the World Championship, and the Pan American Games.
Meanwhile, the Alison and Larissa were chosen as the “Fans Player”. It was purely voted by people, who visited the Brazilian Federation website and nominated the players.
