The Viola midfielder has thanked the Della Valle family and the fans after his departure to AC Milan; insists that he will always cherish the sweet memories of his stay at Florence.

The Viola midfielder refused to sign a new contract with the Florence outfit, and instead chose to sign with the Diavolo until 2016.
Montolivo expressed his gratitude for the Della Valle family, the club and its fans for the unforgettable seven years spent with them, and insisted that the memories of that time will always remain in his heart.
The Gigliati midfielder stated that his journey with the club was an intense voyage, which saw them play in the UEFA Champions League and the Europa League, and also witnessed the club’s rise to the top of Serie A.
In his open letter, the 27-year-old said:
“Before beginning my Euro 2012 adventure with the national team, with the hope of being there as a protagonist, I would like to thank the Della Valle family, Fiorentina and Florence for all these wonderful and unforgettable seven
years spent together. They were seven very intense years, full of joy and pain, satisfaction and tears, which saw us as protagonists in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 and on the prestigious stage of the Europa League and Champions League.”
Montolivo stated that he was the captain of Fiorentina, and always wore the Viola armband on his skin with great pride and passion.
The Gigliati midfielder stated that in life and professions, relationships can break in ways that are hard for other people to understand. However, he insisted that he has always felt passionately about the Purple shirt, that represents
the true heritage of Fiorentina.
The former Atalanta player stated that although there are people at the Viola that consider him their enemy, but the midfielder wished all his fellow players and the club the best for its future.
Montolivo concluded by sending greeting and warm wishes to those who stood by him during his stay at Fiorentina.
