Riccardo Montolivo talks about his early career and Fiorentina

The Azzurri international midfielder has gone on to describe the time when he was developing as a player; and spoke of the love and appreciation he felt at La Viola.
The midfielder completed a free transfer from the Artemio Franchi outfit to the San Siro in the summer of 2012. Prior to moving to the Giuseppe Meazza, Montolivo spent seven seasons at the Florence outfit, moving to Fiorentina in a co-ownership from Atalanta
in the summer transfer window of 2005.
Despite a lack of performances in the Viola colours, the club sought to buy the remaining rights of the player.  The deal was made as the coach, Cesare Prandelli saw ample potential in the player and predicted a bright future for him.
The striker came of age in the 2007-08 season, however, there were some highs and lows for the midfielder, but he established himself as the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rising-Stars-c40367 of the upcoming era.
Montolivo was handed the club captaincy following the departure of Dario Dainelli, the then club captain, Montolivo was also entering the last year of his contract and did not sign an extension.
Following his move from the Fiorentina outfit, the former player has nothing but fond memories of his time at the Artemio Franchi outfit, and feels that the club helped him evolve into the player he is. The midfielder was talking to Gazzetta dello Sport
and during his interview he went on to state:
“I had seven wonderful years at Fiorentina, five of them with great football. I take with me a sense of recognition for the Della Valle family, who allowed me to reach a high level, and of course my rapport with the fans.”
The player went on to discuss the position he feels uncomfortable in, and in an attempt to let Allegri know, he went on to say:
“Where do I see myself at Milan? I can say where I don’t see myself – as a trequartista. Milan were in my destiny. I could’ve gone into their youth academy at the age of six, but my parents thought I was too young and that it was better to stay closer to
home. That’s why I grew up in the Atalanta system...”
The player transferred for free from Fiorentina to Milan.
