  1. My doctor said it was fine to mix cereal with my babies formula/breastmilk at two months.  She also said start trying to spoon feed them cereal between 3 and 4 months.  She said something about research now showing earlier spoon feeding helps with brain developement and reading.  Good luck.

  2. These days they only recommend babys having solids at 6 months. It may be the case that you can do it a little earlier if she is showing signs. Signs that she is ready are:

    * Holding her head up and controlling head movements.

    * Sitting well when supported.

    * Making chewing motions.

    * Doubling her birth weight.

    * Being unsatisfied after a full milk feed

    * Demanding increasing and more frequent milk feeds

    * Attempting to put things in her mouth

    * After a period of sleeping through the night waking in the night with hunger

    * Displaying curiosity about what you are eating.

    I hope this helps.

  3. Most recommended age to start is 6 months old but some pediatricians will give the ok at 4 months but no earlier.

  4. i started at 4 months and juice at 3 months.

  5. 6 months.

  6. We started our daughter at 4 weeks for her acid reflex. Honestly i do not think it is a big problem because it helped her a lot to sleep and to also keep her food down a lot. The doctor told us to do so so it can't be bad for her and my mother in law told us doctors use to start there kids on it by 2 months so when ever you feel the baby is ready try a little and see how it goes. Obviously i am not a doctor and you can ask yours but i don't see how it can bother them if some doctors still put kids on it at a early age. :)

  7. Never. It is junk. I have tons of unopened boxes I need to donate. Just start veggies at 6 months.

  8. There is no need for it at all.  There is no nutrition in it.

    Why not cereal?

    "some studies suggest rice and other highly processed grain cereals actually could be among the worst foods for infants".

    "These foods are in a certain sense no different from adding sugar to formula. They digest very rapidly in the body into sugar, raising blood sugar and insulin levels and could contribute to later health problems, including obesity."

    - Dr. David Ludwig of Children's Hospital Boston

    "Cereal is not at all necessary, particularly the baby cereals. Regular (whole grain) oatmeal is more nutritious for your baby".

    - Kellymom.com

    The truth is, there is nothing special about these foods that makes them better to start out with. Babies don't actually even need rice cereal
