Rich/poor gap?

the rich/poor gap is the gap between the amount of money which rich people have and the amount that poor people have. the current problem is that the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer so this gap is gradually increasing. as third world countries are becoming more developed, people in more affluent countries are saying that the people in the third world countries should not have energy/the other benefits we have by living in a middle class or higher environment because it will contribute to climate change.

what are your views on this issue? do you believe that they have the same rights as us or that they should keep living the way they are used to and have been for many many years?

(by the way i won't judge you by what you answer, i'm just doing a project and would like to put the opinion of others on it)

  1. "Poor people" in this country have at least one car, two televisions, cable and a computer with a high speed connection. Poor people in this country are indeed "rich" compared to the world's standard of poverty.

"The rise of others," the increase in the standard of living in developing nations, is causing a greater demand on fuel resources. Thus, the need to come up with better sources of fuel, and I don't mean ethanol or those silly windmills.

Anyone who can improve his standard of living has the right to do so. To say that impoverished nations need to be kept that way to save energy slow "climate change" is ridiculous.

If "climate change" is a concern, there are far better and more sensible ways to deal with it.

  2. im getting pooorer and poorer each day. my standard of living and quality of life is decreasing. gwad..

  3. the poverty level for a family of four - mom, dad and two children is about  $21,000. that's not a lot of money to feed, clothe and pay rent - let alone a computer, car etc. one thing for sure is  the poverty line is way too low to be considered practical.

second, as far as third world is concerned, those places considered third world are at times rich countries or countries that provide cheap labor for first world countries to profit from and exploit. the term third world is a political term to draw attention away from the truth.

so an answer to your question is poor countries should be profitting from their exports and labor and not have their rights stripped. from personal experiences of travelling the world, these people are for the most part happy about their life in general but want and deserve more from their contributions to other countries' wealth. i think they should be richer because their riches from the land are being stripped without money being paid for them and their hard work is vastly underpaid. just because they don't know any other way of life doesn't mean they don't deserve a better way of life.

  4. answer uknown dont know

  5. a question... when the  ' POOR ' have nothing left to lose...are you their next target?

  6. You should read about Robery Kyiosaki's Rich Dad Poor Dad book. Its really helpful.

  7. unfortunately because countries are controlled by different governments this worldwide rich/poor gap will always exist. some people will donate their lives/money to charitable organizations that attempt to move wealth towards those who need it most but because the citizens of third world countries are out of the boundries of rich countries, political leaders don't really have a good reason to help them... because they are so focused on what is going on within their own borders. sometimes, even when they do try to help, the poorer countries have the right to refuse them.

look at what just recently happened in Burma. the US was forced to abort their humanitarian efforts because the country refused their aid. this is a country where about 500,000 acres of land were damaged & close to ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND PEOPLE DIED!
