Richard Agar of Hull Kingston Rovers believes his team will remain focused – Rugby League news
The departing head coach, Richard Agar of Hull Kingston Rovers says that his team will not get distracted to the secondary issues faced by the team but will only focus on their performance in the clash against the league toppers, the Warrington Wolves at
the KC Stadium, which is to be staged on Friday, September 9, 2011.
There is a lot going on within the club, which might affect Robins Friday’s game against the Wolves. One of the highlights of the previous week is the confirmation of Agar’s departure by the end of this Super League season from the franchise, which was nonetheless
in speculation for quite some time.
In lieu of Agar’s departure news, the ex-coach of Robins, Shaun McRae has returned to Rovers, as their director of rugby. McRae has been assigned the task of selecting the future head coach for Rovers, for which he has already drawn up a three-candidate
shortlist.
However, the names on that short list have not been spilled out by the McRae, who only confirmed the number. The former coach of Robins, when was inquired about his preferences, he did not confirm any names and said that all will be decided within a couple
of weeks, which means that not much of waiting is required.
Although McRae did not confirm any names within the short list, Peter Gentle is believed to be the probable successor to Agar.
Meanwhile Agar is believed to move to Wakefield Trinity Wildcats to overtake John Kear.
While speaking about the rumours linking to his future, Agar added, “There are plenty of rumours flying about but I'm pretty confident I'll be back in work before the weekend so it could have been a lot worse for me. It's been bit of a whirlwind. I have
had talks with two of three clubs since the weekend and I'll know in the next 24 or 48 hours. I think the timing could have been worse. We're secured in the play-offs and we've got another game to go.”
