Richard Agar satisfied with seven-year term with Hull FC – Rugby League news
Richard Agar has confirmed the end of his term with the Hull FC as their head coach, on Tuesday, September 6 and expressed that he considers himself fortunate to have served for seven years with Hulls.
While sharing his views about his term with Hulls, Agar stated, “It has been a fantastic experience to work for Hull FC over the last seven years. I consider it an honour to have worked with the players and staff of this great club. I leave with pride that
we have built a quality squad and culture. I have numerous happy memories and the two Challenge Cup finals and the Grand Final are obvious highlights. I would like to wish the directors, players, staff and fans all the very best for the future.”
The news about Agar’s exit was already circulating around but it was never confirmed by the Hulls. It was in speculation during the month of August that Agar was offered the position of the director of rugby by the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, which could
not be verified by the Hulls’ management.
The Hulls’ top management was in denial of any such happenings which linked their head coach to Wildcats and refused to negate this in public but the entire moving out of the contract with Hulls could not be verified until yesterday.
Agar will leave Hull by the end of this season, despite having another year on his contract as their head coach. His departure will leave the spot vacant to be filled in for the upcoming seasons. This task is left for the ex-chief of Hulls, Shaun McRae,
who is returning to his former home as the director of rugby by the end of October.
McRae was the head coach of Hulls from 2000-04 and had to leave his position for medical reasons. He is excited to join his former club and seems eager to work in the familiar surroundings under Adam Pearson, the owner of Hull FC.
However, Agar is proud of his club and has bid farewell to his club on a very positive note.
