Richard Finch in a “Do or Die” situation at the Volvo World Match Play
in Spain!
Richard Finch has made his way crawling into the Volvo World Match Play at Finca Cortesin in Spain this year.
Finch who turned professional in 2003 has a lot of wins pending on his name as his career is not proceeding towards anything remarkable.
He has three amateur titles to his name before turning professional. He has a disappointing two win stat at a professional level and both on the European Tours.
He has not taken part in any major championship lately and will be the lowest ranked player to participate in this year’s Volvo World Match Play in Spain.
This is an excellent opportunity for the English golfer to make a strong presence at the tournament as his performance in recent games has been extremely poor.
Finch has not made any prize money at all in the last six games. Although in this year’s World Match Play at Finca Cortesin, he will make around £40,000 just in case he shows up at the event unlike previous tournaments where he remained absent for an unknown
reason.
If he proceeds in the tournament and by any means wins it, Finch will take home an amazing amount of £564,000 which will undo his previous six games bad record of getting nothing out of them.
His fellow English man Paul Casey is also in the line-up this year’s Volvo World Match Play. Casey on the other hand has done remarkably well in his last year’s win of £1million.
"I am very grateful to Volvo for giving me this invite as I would have hated to miss out on what is one of my favorite events of the year” said Casey.
Finch needs to outshine each and every player in this Match Play one way or the other as his career is going down the drain with his current form and previous statistics.
It will not be easy as Finch lacks experience of any major championship in his bag and the participants are looking a little tough for the English golfer.
This year’s Volvo World Match Play is a “Do or Die” situation for Richard Finch as his ranking and his pocket is giving an empty view of his career.
