Richard Hannon looks for his eighth win in the Super Sprint with his top for 2 year olds
Champion trainer, Richard Hannon, is down to four runners for the Weatherbys Super Sprint, a flat horse race in Britain. On 16 July, for the Newbury dash, 25 horses will make the line up for the 5 furlongs and 34 yards event.
Richard Hannon will unleash four horses on 16 July among those will be the young 2-year-old bay colt, Eureka. Jockey Richard Hughes will ride the son of Kheleyf.
Jimmy Quinn will rouse Right Result, Ryan Moore on Redact and jockey Dane O’Neill will get to mount Airborne Again.
It is pretty clear what Richard Hannon wants. The champion trainer will be looking to win the Newbury dash for the eighth time in the race’s 20 year history.
Owned by Noodles Racing, Eureka broke his maiden in the British Racing E B F Maiden Stakes at Nottingham on 17 May, 2011.
The 2-year-old was up against ten other colts who were trying to achieve the same.
Eureka, on that day, made an impression as he snatched it by a nose.
On 26 June, Eureka was sent to run at Salisbury race course for a conditions race called the Auction Stakes, he did not disappoint and re-affirmed that he is a special horse by winning the seven horse field event by 2 ¼ lengths.
On a massive field of 25 horses at Newbury, Richard Hannon got a bit unlucky with the stall draws, as he wound up in the ten lowest stalls, the highest among his horse’s was Redact in stall 15.
Richard Hannon is not the only one with four runners on the field, trainers, Richard Fahey and Kevin Ryan, who are the leading northern trainers will be represented by four runners as well.
This year’s Newbury sprint will be a highly competitive renewal and to strengthen this fact trainers like Tom Dascombe, David Barron and Mick Channon will enter two apiece to make the five furlongs event all the more exciting and riveting
Richard Fahey will show off what his stable is capable of, as he will unleash Lilly’s Angel on the field with jockey Paul Hanagan. Other stable mates are Alejandro, Pen Bal Crag and Ebony Clarets.
Kevin Ryan, another famous northern trainer will be represented by On the Dark Sidem who Franny Norton will guide on 16 July.
Jimmy the Lollypop, Hamza and Nagham will fill up Kevin Ryan’s contingent.
Richard Hannon’s another unbeaten 2-year-old colt will also make some heads turn as the son of Strategic Prince just broke his maiden a month back on 2 June 2011.
Certainly the Hannon combination looks the most threatening of the lot, and without a doubt the four runners will cause a field of 25 a lot of problems.
