Richard Hoehn’s martial arts school teaches more than just combat sport – Martial Arts News

A healthy heart and mind are essentials for a good life. Having a mentally strong mind only comes into play when the persons’ physical state is in good condition. Martial arts has become one of the greatly followed exercises. Such
a trend is being followed specially in schools where children are taught martial arts to keep their mind and body in perfect condition.
Keeping in mind the good health which parents want their children to be in, an effort has been made in Florida, USA. Richard Hoehn has started such a project that caters to children. He bought the place in the 1990’s where he has
been teaching martial arts to children since then.
He has named his martial arts school as Adventure Martial Arts. Hoehn started the school with the help of his family members. His wife, Sheila, has been with him in this project where children from all ages and background come
to learn the initial martial arts techniques. For Hoehn, martial arts has been his life. He has been associated with the combat sports since his childhood. Hoehn’s father was a martial arts expert himself and he was the one who gave Hoehn the insight of this
sport.
Hoehn’s father took martial arts lessons from Bangkok and Thailand, the two places where martial arts is part of their tradition and culture. Hoehn was a fast learner as he was able to earn his black belt when he was only fifteen
years old. When he was eighteen years old, his instructor at his martial arts school hired him as an assistant to teach martial arts to those children and adults who were taking classes from this school.
Starting a family business in the 1990’s which has now become a major martial arts school has attracted children and adults from far and wide. Hoehn says, "We're a very family-oriented kind of business. We like to get people together
and have a good time and share experiences." The main objective for Hoehn to start such a school was to teach martial arts and also to use the combat sports in order to gain inner peace. He said, "Originally martial arts was designed for combat, but now what
martial arts is used for is to gain inner peace and happiness."
