Richard Hughes, runner-up in the Flat jockeys’ championships, is facing nearly a month out of competition due to two individual BHA bans for careless riding. He already been handed a ban from November 16 to 29 and has now been dealt a 19-day second ban for his actions at Lingfield on November 4. On Thursday the BHA inquiry found him guilty for allowing Yurtini, his mount, to drift to the right and obstruct the intended line of Paul Hanagan-ridden Ritual, who still managed to win the race.
