Richard Hughes likely to ride Mandy Lexi to her maiden victory in Countrywide Freight Nursery
Veteran jockey, Richard Hughes, will be eying a solid show in the Countrywide Freight Nursery at Haydock in England on Friday, August 10, 2012. He will pair up with Mandy Lexi, who has never won any race in her career, but has got a great opportunity of
shining today.
Tussie Mussie and Capo Rosso are carrying the winning momentum with them, thus they have been given better odds for victory in the 6 furlong event. However, things will not be easy at all for both of them and they will have to be at their absolute best in
order to claim a cash prize of £3,881.
Although, Mandy Lexi has been given a starting price of 10 to 1 by the bookies, yet she is capable of surprising them with her speed. She is quite young and has the ability to fight for a victory today. It will be a very good idea for the punters to risk
some money in her favour, as she can outperform her opponents today.
However, the two-year-old filly does not have a very good record at Haydock, which will be a worrying sign for her team. She has participated in two events at this venue and failed to finish in the top three on both occasions.
The Patrick Morris’ trainee was competitive during her first race at this venue, as she secured the fourth place, but struggled to do the same next time around.
Mandy Lexi was rated as the favourite in her second race at Haydock, but disappointed one and all with her lack of competitiveness. She started off nicely, but lost momentum half way through, finishing at the bottom of the table.
Despite that, the young challenger cannot be ruled out completely, as her overall record is a decent one. She has secured the runner up spot on three occasions whereas finished as third once. This goes onto show that she is fully capable of giving a tough
time to her opponents at this level.
Dark Angel’s daughter has only participated in seven races and today will be her eighth outing. This will be the first time that she will be ridden by a quality jockey like Hughes, who has done a very good job in the ongoing season.
