  1. Kahui is skillful enough to play wing. Remember his Highlanders background.

Issue is more about the worrying aspect of selections and lack of thought on the field. Cardiff lingers in the mind?

At the world cup the best first five was from Argentina. The best front row from RSA. The Poms only just behind them. h**l Georgia forwards fired more than ours.

Best loose forwards were from RSA, but also Fiji/Tonga and Argies were most excellent.

    Our guys were where?

No Piri to give them backbone and character. Now he is in there the worry is if they loose again does he and Richard take the chop. Remember Lauaki. So good against the RSA team and bumblimg around last week.

    But its ok!

We lacked experience.  Players and experience with th enew rules. Hey have Australia had years of ELV's or is it just me being niggardly?

Not like the RWC when we lacked on-field decision making.

Dont we expect more of our AB's? Or should we just accept losses like the French the Poms and others?

    Yeah Right!

Richard Kahui should be good. He has height, speed and fearlessness. He can kick.

    Good luck AB's.

  2. He played their a couple of years ago with the highlanders he was outstanding. Wulf and tuitavake haven't done anything much with their oppertunities. Taking noun out of the mid feild just transfers the problem

  3. If you go back 40 odd years, you will find that a guy called Fred Allen (and who questions him?) picked a couple of guys from Hawkes Bay out of position. Ian MacRae and Bill Davis played 2nd five and centre for HB and centre and wing for the AB's. A guy called Colin Le Quesne coached them in HB - he was quite good as well.

The answer is, if a guy has talent and intelligence he will adapt.

  4. We have a good reputation for playing players out of position and those countries of a high calibre are always quick to exploit that.

  5. I think it is a big call as it is the home ground of both Wulf and Tuituvake. But it seams we are going to kick every out this week, i am not certain why we are struggling with the elvs, we won the super 12 playing them?

  6. Richard Kahui, well do the job. Hat's off to the coaching staff for using the talent they have got. The wings we got at the moment need a bit more work. So why not try him there.

  7. Defensively he will have more confidence than the other two, who constantly looked to DC or Mils to clear, when the ball arrived with runners coming on. Both Smith and Kahui can make quality decisions quickly.

And the boy has wheels, don't worry about that. Also bigger than the other guys. I like that both Smith and Kahui are out there - two large men with blinding skills sets and bags of confidence.

lets hope they don't go too hard and get injured.

Nonu is fine where he is. I'm sure the idea of switching Nonu to the wing for Kahui in at 12 was not an option -  again Nonu aint known for his ability to kick.

We need to stop AUS and RSA kicking deep with runners coming on to young wings who are not confident to clear the ball. No point having all the possesion and line breaks if you are pinned inside your own 22 because the wing won't receive and clear - need to take that weak point away. The pace of the game means the wing must receive and clear, he can not afford the time to pass or isolate himself by running it back - instant turnover - too close to the line.

Im not disrespecting AT or RW, they are both fine wings, just don't need to be playing in a test that is not geared for their sucess. It is no longer enough for a wing to just be a great finisher - the pace of the game means that they must now make and perform quality kicking decisions under pressure and very quickly.

Nick Evans would have been pulling his hair out watching the  young wings in the last two test matches. And I'm pretty sure he would have got the job last weekend if he wasn't bussy getting rich. But once again WE HAVE LOST TOO MANY QUALITY PLAYERS. Trouble is Deans knows this more than Henry and Smith.

  8. I think one of the problem for NZ rugby is we never learn.

Playing players out of position will only work against lesser opponent but never against team of close quality.

This happened in the WC at Sydney as well as in France.

Well IMO Henry had given the Oz another advantage again and God help us this coming Saturday.
