Richard Le Mare of Draycote Water Sailing Club takes RS300 Gul Grand Prix at Aldenham Sailing Club
Excellent display of sailing skills from Richard Le Mare of Draycote Water Sailing Club has brought him on top of the RS300 Gul Grand Prix standings. Le Mare is currently leading the overall podium standings with seven points at the end of the event at Aldenham
Sailing Club.
The wind forecast was unexpectedly low, as the breeze gusted too slow to have a complete sail around the race course. Sailors made their run with the new set of rules during the event. According to the new format, participants have to complete five short
races with 30 minutes for each race.
Richard Le Mare and Pete Ellis of the host club shared the races’ victories but due to a consistent sail, Le Mare was named the winner of the event. Le Mare grabbed last two races to finish first with seven points while with the same score, Pete Ellis, occupied
the second spot. Barry Steel from Aldenham Sailing Club secured third position with 12 points after five races.
