Richard M. Nixon was a Quaker. What was his position on reciting the Pledge of Allegiance?

  1. I don't know about Nixon's stance on the Pledge of Allegiance, but he took the Oath of Office upon becoming president, so I doubt he had a problem with saying the Pledge.  

    He was raised by evangelical Quaker parents, but he went through great changes in religious outlook in college and beyond, and departed from much of Quakerism.  He also attended a Presbyterian church when he lived in California.


  2. He did -- always.  A Quaker is not Amish or aq Jehova's Witness.....
