The Superboeren head coach was all praise for his side’s performance in the 2-1 loss against the Tukkers and admitted that it was always difficult to achieve a good result with a man less.
De Graafschap boss, Richard Roelofsen, has heaped praise on his side’s performance against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Twente-c39233 Enschede at Vijverberg Stadion on March 21 despite losing the match 2-1.
The Super Farmers commenced proceedings impressively and took the lead with the first real attack of the match. Soufian El Hassnaoui received the ball outside the box and his powerful curling effort found the top left corner of the net.
However, they failed to keep their one-goal lead intact, as the Tukkers levelled the score-line in the 19th minute. Nacer Chadli set up http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-Rosales-c31362 inside the box, and the 23-year-old made no mistake in hitting the back of the net.
The visiting side continued to dominate proceedings at Vijverberg Stadion, but failed to add any more goals in the remaining action of the opening 45 minutes.
After the half-time break, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leroy-Fer-c22126 scored an impressive goal to give his side a one-goal lead in the 52nd minute. Things got worse for the home side only six minutes later, when Rogier Meijer received his marching orders for a second bookable
offence.
With a man down, the hosts never stood a chance and the Tukkers bagged all three points at the end with a 2-1 win.
Roelofsen was disappointed following the loss, but admitted that his side made life very difficult for the Tukkers.
“We made it difficult for Twente. The players did everything to achieve a good result. However, with ten men, we never had a chance. After a good start, a fantastic goal from Twente levelled the score-line”
“Our back-line failed to defend properly after the break. If the match would have ended in a 1-1 draw, we would have been very pleased. But it was not the case”, Roelofsen was quoted as saying to Voetbal International.
De Graafschap are currently sitting at the bottom of the Eredivisie table, twelve points adrift of the safety zone.
