Richard Troupe says he will take on anyone, anywhere – Boxing News
The 30-year-old from Yorkshire, Richard Troupe, who concluded a shocking victory in the junior middleweight bout on June 13 in the Holiday Inn at Birmingham against Duane Parker, says now he can take on
any boxer in the world.
The underdog Troupe was flying high as he ended the unbeaten run of the Derbyshire pugilist, Duane Parker, with a knockout punch in the fourth round.
Troupe, who is a husband and a father of two, stated he has gained a lot of confidence and is ready to take on anyone in the ring. He also claimed he is fit enough to get into the ring again before September.
"I'll fight anyone, anywhere so I may fight again before September. I want to keep busy. My confidence is sky high now so I won't fear anyone," said Troupe.
Troupe also had words of gratitude for his trainer, Jimmy Phelan, and said he did a lot of hard work with his trainer before the fight. He added he was listening to every instruction that was being given
to him and implemented them in the fight.
"It was a great win for me, but it was only a matter of time before it happened," Troupe told a major daily newspaper. "I've been training really hard with Jimmy Phelan and we've done some great work.
I've worked hard, listened to my corner man and got the job done."
In the end Troupe was asked about his last three fights which he lost by narrow points decisions. He said he is not concerned about his record at this point of time as he just wants to improve his skills.
While speaking on his fight, he said "Records are for DJs, I'm not bothered about records. I just want to improve. I've dominated this fight and that has given me a lot of confidence.”
Troupe remarked he is hoping to get some big fights now as they will also help him financially. Let’s see if the man who is using boxing to pay his bills really gets a good fight for himself before September.
