Manchester City full back, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Micah-Richards-c25259 has been ruled out of action for up to four months, after the player was found to have torn a meniscus cartilage in his right knee.
The defender was part of the City side that took on Swansea in the League over the weekend, and despite the team winning by one goal to nil, the win was barred by the injury to the full back.
When talking about the injury that he sustained and just how it is making him feel, the full back is reported to have said: “The positive thing is that the injury has been repaired so the knee will be as good as ne,”
“I have a brace on it and I am using crutches. I can’t do anything at all for the next four to six weeks and I am probably looking at 12-16 weeks before I am back in action.”
“I knew straight away in the game that it was quite a bad injury. The knee locked and I couldn’t straighten it.”
“I suppose it could have been even worse and not repairable which would have meant removing the meniscus; so I am being positive. Injuries are all part and parcel of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 but this coming on top of the other one I do feel a little hard done to.”
“I will be working as hard as I can to get back as quickly as I can and I thank all the fans who have sent their best wishes.”
However, all hope is not yet lost for City. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pablo-Zabaleta-c29022 has been declared fit, and the Argentine could feature this coming weekend for the team.
Despite that fact, the loss of Richards is bound to be felt by the team. Based on initial reports, the defender won’t be back till February and that is only if his recovery goes according to plans.
It is now a wait to see just how long the player takes to get back into the City squad.
