Richie McCaw ready for Tri-Nations decider against Wallabies in Brisbane - Rugby News
All Blacks skipper Richie McCaw is confident to defend the Tri-Nations title successfully against the Wallabies on August 27 in Brisbane. New Zealand has won the most Tri-Nations Cup titles in its 15-year long history and they are the favourites to lift
the trophy again this year. New Zealand has won this tournament on nine occasions in the last 15 stalls. All Blacks skipper, Richie McCaw told the media on August 26 that his side is well prepared for the clash and they are hopeful to return to their homes
with the title this year.
SANZAR nations, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia are participating in the tournament since 1996. The inaugural cup was won by All Blacks and so far they have maintained their excellent record of winning the event on most occasions. New Zealand has
also got the honour to win the tournament on four consecutive times as they have remained undisputed champs from 2005-08. South Africa managed to break their four title winning streak in 2009 as they crushed the All Blacks in Hamilton.
New Zealand has also got a tremendous record of winning most matches in the championship. They have won 48 matches in their 68 outgoings which is the largest number of victories among the other Sanzar nations. South Africa is on second with 27 victories
whereas the Wallabies on third and last with 26 win under their belts.
Talking to the journalists about their up coming match against the Wallabies, Richie McCaw said that we have made some planes for this particular match. He added that, “We've got to make sure we bring the same sort of intensity. We were a little off last
week, at breakdown time we lost that battle slightly and it is tough to get your game going when that is the case.”
The skipper further said that, “I think the key will be, and it always is, about taking the most of your opportunities. In the first Test that's what we did and we got ahead and got control of the game.”
All Blacks and Wallabies will collide on August 27 to decide the new champion in Brisbane.
