is this a serious question? did you not see Hattons last loss, he looked hella dumb trying to box all dirty and then getting humiliated, Cotto is a legit boxer with all around skills and good defense, I want to see Cotto vs Mayweather that fight would bring in a lot of millions.

I think if Cotto has one or two more good fights then he will be considered the better but at the moment, it's Ricky.

I always thought Ricky was garbage! He's not a good fighter at all. Although i dislike Mayweather he took Ricky down like cake! Cotto on the other hand has power and intelligence!

Ricky Hatton has the foot work and aggresion over Cotto. Cotto has the boxing skills over Hatton. Hatton has no defense and Cotto defense is not that much better. Cotto doesn't have a complete boxing game but more than Hatton. Gomez doesn't prove you have boxing skills but he can be your sparring partner.

They're both very impressive boxers and entertaining to watch. I'm very much a Hatton fan but I'm astounded by Cotto's precision and power, he picks his shots and they pretty much land every time.

Hatton's work rate is phenomenal and he always tries to put on a good show for his fans. With a short reach he's bound to be inclined to fight on the inside and to say he holds and fights dirty like some haters is false. If he fought long range, he'd be putting himself at a disadvantage...there's not many successful bodyshots that can be thrown from a distance and you need to be close.

I can't see why so many people slag Hatton off. He's lost only one fight in his entire career and that was to one of the best boxers in the world around at the minute! He could easily fight opponents he knows he could beat and stay within his comfort zone, but the thing with Hatton is that he likes a challenge and I think he deserves a lot of respect for that.

I'd love to see Cotto beat Mayweather and believe he has a fair chance. Whether Mayweather has the guts to put his money where his mouth is is another thing. I can't stand Mayweather, he's a boring boxer, cocky and flaunts his cash.

Both are good, but in terms of overall skill, Miguel Cotto is WAY better than Ricky Hatton.  Hatton gets the nod in agressiveness, but in every other category, I would have to give it to Cotto.  Cotto is stronger, and in his past few bouts, he has shown that he has pretty good boxing ability to go along with his power.  They are both good body punchers, but Cotto is probably the best body puncher in the game today and he lands the more effective blows.  They are both exciting, but I believe that Cotto is a little bit more exciting, mainly because I don't like how Hatton holds all the time.  All in all, Miguel Cotto is simply the overall better fighter.

Cotto is better because he has better boxing skills than Hatton, Hatton is a good fighter but his style is to smuther his opponent,clinch, and rough them up Mayweather used Hatton's Own game plan against him and exposed his weakness. Hatton cant fight unless its fighting dirty.
