Ricky Hatton: Timothy Bradley will not make things easy for Manny Pacquiao – Boxing news
Ricky Hatton, the former International Boxing Organization light welterweight champion, shared his expert opinion about Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley clash and commented that Bradley is a tidy and intelligent pugilist who bends himself in accordance with
his opponents brawling style adding that Manny will win the bout but Timothy will not make it easy for him.
Hatton recently shared these comments in a short media interaction and put forth his view point in detail. Ricky, who boasts 45 wins in a total 47 bouts, last collided with Manny and lost his title but getting knocked out in just the second round.
It is this reason why his analysis is being considered as an authentic one. Ricky simply placed his vote in the Pacman’s corner when asked as to who will win the bout but later on explained that the task will not be an easy one as Timothy is a talented and
intelligent brawler who goes by the book and evolves with every passing round.
Ricky while pinpointing Manny’s basic deficiency stated, “Fighters who have a good defence and are counter punchers are those that have caused Manny the most problems. I think Bradley is going to use his boxing ability and box on the back foot and that’s
where he’s going to cause Manny a few problems.”
Also known as ‘The Hitman’, Ricky also highlighted Manny’s last bout experience and commented that Pacquiao needs to work hard and improve his brawling style as he was just an inch close to lose his last bout from Juan Manuel Marquez.
It must be noted that Manny won the bout by mere two or three points and Juan was the one who collected the praise and in other words the vote of the crowd. Ricky stated, “Manny needs to come back with a big performance after the fight with Marquez which
many thought he lost, myself included.”
Hatton further added that Timothy needs to enter the ring with more than one game plan adding that one thing is for sure the way Bradley is preparing and the talent he boasts will not allow Manny to just obliterate him in thin air.
Ricky stated, “Bradley will need to have more than just one game plan going into this fight. Everyone is expecting Manny Pacquiao to blast Bradley out but I don’t think it will be easy. I expect Manny to win but it will be an exciting fight.”
Manny and Timothy are scheduled to headline the pay-per-view put forth by Bob Arum of Top Rank Promotions. The duo will meet at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States on June 9, 2012.
