Ricky Hatton vs Miguel Cotto who wins?

Question

Unfortunately this fight probably wont happen now as Hatton is unlikely to fight at welterweight again and Cotto is unlikely to move down to light welterweight. But who would have won if these two had fought a few years back when they were both champions in the light welterweight division?.

at 140 it's a toss up imo

Cotto is stronger then Hatton  but at 140  he was weight drained in his last fights , that's were Hatton had his best chance .

It's a shame that fight might never happen specially  at 140 cause it had all the ingredients to become a classic war.

i think cotto would have ko`d him. he is too big,too strong for hatton and i really wouldnt give hattoon any chance

It would be a fight worth watching but in my opinion very one sided. Cotto is just the better boxer in every department. Hatton's game plan is to trap you on the ropes and use his head to keep you there just as he did in when he fought Kosta in England, besides the referee helping him out by not cautioning him one time for holding or using his head. Ricky's biggest mistake was coming to America to show his boxing skills, he's very one dimensional as proven in his last fight,   sure he throws over a 100 punches per round and when he was fighting at the lower weight he had some power. Great power? but his overall number of punches would wear a guy down. I like to watch Hatton fight and he seems like a very nice guy outside of the ring too, but Cotto was to good for him even at light welterweight and I think Cotto would out box him for 6 to 7 rounds before the referee stops the contest due to cuts and swelling over and bellow Hattons eyes (see Hattons last fight to see what I'm talking about). unfortunately your right it wont hapen cos cotto ent guna move down and hatton will not move up, if it did it would be an amazing fight but even though im british and i love ricky hatton, im afraid on points decision cotto would win but still it would be very tight, good question.

At light welter Hatton,at welter Cotto.Hatton when fighting Mayweather looked undersized,and Mayweathers speed and strength showed from the beginning.Hatton just isn't a welterweight but is strong enough to be more than a match for Cotto at light welter.How many thumbs down here Baz?5 or more?Hatton by close dec
