Ricky Karanda Suwardi – Muhammad Ulinnuha successfully enter into main round: Indonesia Open GP Gold
Indonesia’s Men’s Doubles pair of Ricky Karanda Suwardi and Muhammad Ulinnuha successfully entered into the main round after making their mark on team-mates Hafiz Faisal and Putra Eka Rhoma at the 2011 Indonesia Open GP Gold, on September 27, in Indonesia.
The wonderful play of Suwardi and Ulinnuha earned them an important win over their compatriots in a three-set fight that lasted for 31 minutes. This victory paved their way to enter into the main round of the Men’s Doubles draw of the Indonesia open.
Suwardi and Ulinnuha opened the first set in a shaky manner as they could not focus in the game and failed to control the pace of the rallies. The better play of Faisal and Rhoma earned them a good lead of 11-8 until the break.
After the one-minute rest, Suwardi and Ulinnuha tried to reduce the deficit by playing a fast game. However, they failed as they executed many wrong strokes and threw away many points by hitting the bird wide of the court. Suwardi and Ulinnuha lost the first
set to their team-mates with the margin of 18-21 in just 12 minutes.
The second set of this Men’s Doubles contest was a complete reversal as Suwardi and Ulinnuha played on a different level. They grabbed the driving seat and dictated the pace of the game in the whole set.
Faisal and Rhoma completely failed to hold their grip on the pace as their opponents were everywhere in the court. Suwardi and Ulinnuha won the game in an impressive manner with the result of 21-11, in just 8 minutes.
The third game was close in the opening half as both sides played a positive game. However, Suwardi and Ulinnuha started to build a gap by playing with more aggression. In the ending phase of the final set, Suwardi and Ulinnuha controlled the rallies and
finished the set by a 21-15 margin in just 11 minutes.
Suwardi and Ulinnuha won the match in 31 minutes with the margin of 18-21, 21-11 and 21-15.
