Ricky Ponting believes to bounce back on a bouncy track
The magical five days that the England team had in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 dented the reputation of Australian Cricket team. However, the defeat has not deterred Australia’s positive approach towards the game. Ricky Ponting believes they can
hit back hard at English team and try to level the series at WACA, in Perth. The Aussie skipper stated strongly
“Despite being 1-0 down and clearly outplayed in Adelaide, we are still very much in this series and a win in Perth will give us the momentum we need to seriously challenge England and win the Ashes back."
Only time can tell whether this dream can be fulfilled or not? Ponting, on the other side, is happy with the team selection and is keenly waiting for the 3rd test match. He further dismissed all the speculations about
his retirement and said “I have not stopped for one moment to consider retirement. The question of my future as captain is ultimately a decision for Cricket Australia and categorically the future of Australian cricket must come first."
Ricky Ponting is well aware of his lack of form; however, he believes he is confident enough about his batting ability and leadership skills. Ideally, he would love to score and ensure that his team members follow his footsteps
before it gets very late for the captain and his team.
As every captain should do “lead from the front”, this is exactly what Ponting needs to do. With the squad being shuffled for the 3rd test match in this Ashes series, the selectors have introduced couple of new faces
and Ponting believes this will help to lift the spirits in the dressing room.
Commenting on Perth’s pitch, Ponting said that the pitch is regaining its old spice, which it was famous for earlier. Years ago, the wicket of the WACA ground was the benchmark for pace and bouncy tracks. Australia’s record at
WACA is exceptional and certainly the Australian team would like to bounce back on the bouncy pitch.
