Ricky Walden, Stephen Lee play at General Snooker Club in Hong Kong: 2011 General Cup International
Englishmen Ricky Walden and Stephen Lee will be participating in the upcoming 2011 General Cup International snooker tournament. The event is an invitational competition starting from Monday, July
4 to Thursday, July 7 at General Snooker Club in Hong Kong. Ricky Walden will be defending the title he grabbed two years back in 2009 at the same venue.
The last episode of this non-ranking event was held in 2009 at General Snooker Club in Hong Kong where Ricky Walden defeated Liang Wenbo by the score line of 6-2 in the best-of-11 frames final on
July 17, 2009.
There are six players taking part in the event and they will be divided into two groups, A and B, comprising of three players each. Players include Ricky Walden, Stephen Lee, Tom Ford, Marco Fu, Noppadol
Sangnil and Thepchaiya Un-Nooh. The division of the players according to their respective groups is given below.
Group A: Stephen Lee, Tom Ford, Thepchaiya Un-Nooh
Group B: Ricky Walden, Marco Fu, Noppadol Sangnil
All group matches will be played on round-robin format and they will be best-of-seven frames while in the knockout stage, the semi-finals will be best-of-nine and the final best-of-11 frames. The

Marco Fu vs Noppadol Sangnil
Stephen Lee vs Thepchaiya Un-Nooh
July 6
Ricky Walden vs Noppadol Sangnil
Stephen Lee vs Tom Ford
Ricky Walden vs Marco Fu
Total prize money of the event is approximately £9,600, with winner to be awarded £4,000. The runner-up will be given £2,000 and the prize for second and third place in the group is £1,200 and £600
respectively.
Each century break during the tournament will be awarded with £160, while the highest break prize is £1600, if over 100 points, and £800, if below 100 points. However, the prize of maximum 147 is
£12,000.
Defending champion, Walden must be looking forward to retain his title he won in 2009. His main opponents for the title will be Stephen Lee, Marco Fu and Tom Ford.
