Ricky Walden hoping for tough match against Marcus Campbell: 2012 Wuxi Classic
World Number 13 potter, England’s Ricky Walden defeated the in-form Robert Milkins by the score line of 5-3 in the quarter-final encounter to book his place in the penultimate stage of the 2012 Wuxi Classic snooker tournament at the Wuxi Sports Center arena
in Wuxi, China.
Walden will be facing the Scotsman Marcus Campbell in the semi-final clash and believes that the match up against Campbell will be tough and interesting because both potters have performed sensibly in the event.
Walden spoke to World Snooker about his next match against Campbell, “It's going to be a tough game. Marcus is a really tough match player. He's been around a long time and has got a lot of experience so I'm going to have to be on the top of my game if I'm
going to come through that one. I'm just looking forward to getting out there and hopefully I can do the business.”
Walden was pushed down by Milkins in the first session of the quarter-final by the score line of 1-3. Walden was under immense pressure but he focused on his game and breezed back into the game with four frame wins to claim his triumph by the score line
of 5-3. Milkins tried his best to stop Walden’s run in the match but failed to cope with progress of the Englishman.
Walden spoke about his match against Milkins, “After the interval I settled down a bit, Rob missed a few and there was a topsy-turvy frame to go 3-3, it could have easily gone 4-2. After that I finished off the match pretty strongly and played well in the
end so I'm happy.”
Walden started his 2012 Wuxi Classic campaign with his opening round match against the Wild Card entrant from China Zhu Yinghui. He defeated him easily by the score line of 5-0 at the Wuxi Sports Center arena to set up Joe Perry second round clash.
His game with Perry was a tussling as the pair was very competitive from the start. However, Walden was able to beat the Englishman by the score line of 5-4 to move into the quarters.
