look at the facts. Recently Michael Irving was let into the hall of fame and he at one time was a known cocaine user. I for one am for lettig people in the hall of fame based on talent rather than off field issues such as drugs. Had he not been suspended or retired over the last few years, he would be close to hall of fame numbers in stats. As recently as a few days ago the miami dolphins reported that ricky williams was the best player on the field. With him being the only offensive weapon the doplphins have at this time, ( unless the dolphins sign keyshawn johnson ) I can see ricky williams adding on 6,000 or 7,000 yards to his current nfl stats if he stays away from drugs. He currently has

7112 rushing yds

1899 recieving yds

51 tds

  1. No his career was good but it wasnt prolific enough.

If he had continued his dominance that he had from '00 to '03, into later on in his career then there is a good chance he would've been able to, even with pot. He was so heavily relied on and carried the whole team and i think if he rushed long enough and was dominant enough to get to 10,000 yards and proved he could stay on top for more than 4 years then yes he would have made the HOF but not now unless he gets about 4 more 1000 yard seasons

  2. He might have been in the HOF if he had played a few more years.  You're right - if he gets back into the game and has a few more seasons as an elite RB, he might.  But there are an awful lot of really good RBs out there.

It's not about drugs.  I couldn't care less about that.  He just hasn't played enough football to get into the Hall.

You're right that if he gets to 14,000 yards he will be HOF material since that would put him well ahead of Tomlinson, who is probably Hall-bound, and into Dickerson territory.  But Williams is 31.  It's just not going to happen.

  3. last time I checked this team also has Ronnie Brown, who was one of the top backs in the league last year before his injury.  He will be in a RBBC for the foreseeable future so he wont rapidly add on those stats.  Quite frankly, his stats aren't that special at this time and likely won't be given HOF consideration unless Ronnie gets hurt again and Ricky puts up monster stats for the next 3 to 4 years

  4. If he didn't retire and didn't have drug problems, yes he could have been. Not now though.

  5. I've always liked ricky the guy is for sure a HOF material he just needs to play more and get off pot at least during the reg season lol.

  6. NO.End of story. and you said it at the end IF HE CAN STAY AWAY FROM DRUGS. He won't. He's a loser.

  7. If he doesnt retire and stay off pot, He is a sure Hall Of Famer. Just ask Mike Ditka

  8. no.  maybe high times hof

  9. ricky williams will be a hall of famer if he makes the 12,000 yd mark for rushing. He will not be a first ballot because of drugs problems. Which I do not think should be held against him, but they willbe. Ricky Williams is a hall of famer if he achieves this mark.

  10. The HOF is based on a career.

We can never say what someone might have done.

If he has the numbers at the end of his career then I don't see why he would not get in.

    Let's wait and see.
