Ricky ponting will go past Sachin's record with ease!?

Question

I personally feel Punter will thrash Sachins record in both forms of the game,, In Test matches he is around 1700 Runs short and in one day he is about 4500 runs short,,, and he is nearly 2 yrs younger than sachin so more time left.

And of couse sachin's performance is depleting match by match..... Ponting now has 35 tons to sachins 39 in tests..... So that would be crossed in 1 yr max........

All the best Punter to be the worlds best..

lol u must be kidding. ponting is already having trouble retaining his place on the side now. he faked an injury and sat down last 3 games against the west indies becuase he can't drop shaun marsh and shane watson who are playing brilliantly also other youngsters are performing well like david hussey. so i think ponting and symonds know that they might not get to play that's why they are refusing to come to pakistan for the champions trohpy.

Well Ponting can .And yes he has more time left. If he keeps himself in good form and away from injuries then he can definitely do that.

Hold on a minute.Sachin still has not retired and just one bad performance doesn't mean that Ponting will break Sachin's record with ease.He has gone through many bad performances like this before and he came back strongly.So another 2 tests are coming.

John J is very much mistaken about Pontings injury. He has had surgery on his wrist & would most likely  not have played even if Australia were going to Pakistan. Don't make a chump of yourself by lying about injured players you tool.

Look Sachin will always be a great player in my eyes,he only need about 150 more runs and he has becomethe highest scorer in history,so WHEN Ricky does break Sachin's record at least Ponting will know he has broken one of the best ever batsmens records.

Well it is going to be close-Thats all i am going to say..

I think both of them are excellent batsmen and i would'nt want to say anything bad about him as i know it will only result in numerous thumbs down from the Indian fans'.

I think Ricky has atleast another 4-5 years in him,at an International level anyway.Put the figures together and you will see Ricky will surpass what ever Sachin puts down in runs.

He is going to be playing a bit longer than Sachin.
