Ricky van Wolfswinkel attracts interest from Liverpool, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur
Reports in Holland have linked Dutch ace http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ricky-van-Wolfswinkel-c31131 with a summer switch to one of the three Premier League clubs chasing the player. The report suggests that Newcastle United and Liverpool are leading the chase for his signing, with London based
Tottenham Hotspur also monitoring the Dutch starlet.
His agent revealed that Newcastle and Liverpool were keeping a close eye on the player, widely considered as the next Van Basten.
“There is nothing in place yet regarding a transfer for Ricky. At this moment there is no update. He has returned to action and has scored a couple of times, and is coming back well from injury.” Louis Laros told media representatives.
“We are still working towards a move this summer but I have nothing finalized yet. I have not spoken to either club in the past three weeks. In the winter break both clubs told me they would follow him and keep an eye on him. In the next coming months we will
see, so I will wait for contact.”
Van Wolfswinkel is interested in switching to England and follow in the footsteps of his idol http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ruud-van-Nistelrooy-c31966. He has been a regular at under-21s and has displayed a string of impressive performances for country and club. The youngster was recently awarded
an International debut for the Dutch International side as well.
He has established himself as a leading marksman at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Utrecht-c39237 and helped his club finish seventh in the Dutch Eredivisie. The forward has a fabulous scoring rate and has scored 17 times in his last 24 appearances in all competitions. He is regarded as one
of Europe’s brightest prospects having been closely watched by the continent's top clubs.
Newcastle United has no liquidity crisis as they pocketed £35 million from Andy Carroll’s January move to Liverpool. Ricky is considered a possible replacement for the English centre-forward. However, The Magpies will have to battle other English clubs and
outbid the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and Tottenham for the player’s signature.
