Rico Hamdani outplays Rio Permata Alam in Men’s Singles first round at Flypower Bali Open 2012
Rico Hamdani, one of the spirited players of Indonesia, found a lucrative start as he played with impressive precision and managed to win the Men’s Singles first round against his country-mate Rio Permata Alam in Djarum Sirnas Flypower Bali Open 2012 in
Indonesia, on Monday, November 5.
The higher ranked Rico, who is the 10th seeded player in the main draw of the tournament, was incredible on court as he played with complete command on court and easily thrashed his lower ranked opponent by taking 35 minutes of the court time.
Rico was confident in his aggressive play as he did not play negative shots and also remained fully focused all the way to finish up the match in straight game with a superb difference on score board.
In the meanwhile, the un-seeded Permata failed to play aggressive badminton as he could not take the bird early and remained struggling throughout the battle. He lost the set with a huge margin without showing his skills in the arena.
The higher ranked Rico played with phenomenal control in his strokes and managed to control the affairs from starting points.
Backed by the support of home fans, Rico stayed in commanding position on court and took a decent lead against his opponent until the one-minute break.
After the one-minute interval, the in-form Rico did not lose his focus in the arena and remained successful in maintaining the difference.
Rico continued executing powerful smashes and eventually finished up the first set with a superb 21-16 score on the board.
In the meanwhile, Permata geared up his speed to play positive badminton in the second set but failed to remain positive and started to commit mistakes.
However, Rico did not slow down the pace of rallies and remained miles ahead on score board until the mid-game break.
After the interval, Rico continued showing up his incredible skills without facing any trouble and finished up the second game with a super margin of 21-13.
Rico emerged as the winner in this first round contest in straight games with an inspiring 21-16 and 21-13 score on the board.
