Riddick Bowe vs. David Tua?

Another potential matchup that was doomed by the pattern of inactivity and poor conditioning of the modern heavyweights - this could have been a supersized Ali-Frazier, if the Riddick Bowe who fought Evander the first time and the Tua that fought Ike had shown up....

  1. Mate great question!! That would be one h**l of a fight. Bowe certainly had the stamina to go the distance but Tua would hurt him in the middle rounds. Baring in mind Tua was really hurting Holyfield in sparring which was really concerning the Duva camp prior to Tyson fights! To the guy that said Tua looses the big ones, bare in mind he knocked out 3 Heavy Weight Champions early in their cereers. He also had a chin like GRANITE! Tua was under rated and the Lewis fight was simply poor conditioning and he was run by that idiot Kevin Barry. It's a shame the management split stopped Tuas career for a few years as he would certainly have been up there. He's back now but still battling weight. Mind you he still has a left hook that could drop a donkey!!

  2. Bowe would outbox the tough and durable Tua all night.  Tua would never be in danger of being knocked out but would lose the majority of the rounds.  Bowe by unanimous decision.

  3. A sleeper until the late rounds.  I still hear people cry that Bowe would have beaten Lennox Lewis.  What a joke!.  Lennox stopped a lazy unmotivated Bowe in the olympic trials and he would have done much more to him in the pros.  Bowe, for all his "New York tough guy" mouth KNEW this.  Thats why he threw his belt in the trash rather than face Lewis.  Lennox is just a better fighter period.

Both Bowe and Tua are lazy fighters.   Tua has Tyson's power but he lacks Tyson's intensity.  He didnt even try against Lewis.  IT was a boring fight but a smart one on Lewis' part.  Tua has late power that even Tyson lacks.  He's not easy to hurt.

Bowe could take a decision if he came in shape.  But how often has he done that.  Any champion who needs to install a KITCHEN is his BEDROOM cant be serious about boxing.

On paper Bowe should take a decision.  The problem here is that he was ''The Chosen One" before he proved himself.  Michael Grant was the same.   Both were all size,  with impressive tools and no guts.  The difference is that Bowe wasnt a very smart fighter,  Which is why Lewis would have knocked him out in the pros.  He was afraid of Lennox,  I dont care what anyone says.  Grant wasnt much smarter.  He just had too much yellow in him.  He should stick to basketball and leave boxing for the rugged.

Like I said,  ON PAPER, Bowe should take a decision.

In the real world,  Tua wins late.

Tua by one punch KO in 13

  4. Real tough one but I think Tua was just below the very top class of the heavyweights so I take a vintage Bowe to beat him in a tough fight on a unanimous points decision

  5. bowe to out muscle tua and win on points.

  6. i think Bowe would of beat him in Decision.... Tua always loses every big fight so tough to say he could win this one .... Tua Had Problems with Taller fighters and Bowe would only have to look out for the left hook anyway so i think it would probably be an easy fight for Bowe....but one big Punch from Tua could end it early ... tough call but i will stick with Bowe by Decision

  7. David Tua by 10th round KO.
